The 2008 NABS Ad Auction runs from February 19 to April 17, 2008
What is the NABS Ad Auction?
The NABS Ad Auction is Canada's largest charitable Media Auction. Now in its 17th year, this is NABS' single, biggest annual fundraising program. In the past 16 years, the auction has raised more than close to $7.5 million to help those in need within the advertising, media and communications community. It is an excellent opportunity for companies to find targeted, cost-efficient media deals while supporting an excellent cause.
The funds generated through the Ad Auction assist in providing services offered by NABS Canada and through our regional chapters NABS West and BEC.
The National Advertising Benevolent Society (NABS) is the only charitable
organization in Canada that provides assistance to communications industry
professionals, who may need help due to illness, injury, unemployment
or financial difficulties. NABS services include a national toll-free HELPLINE
(1-888-355-5548), financial assistance, skills assessment, online job board,
as well as emotional, personal and career counselling services. Founded in
1983, and supported 100% by the industry, NABS has contributed more than
$7.5 million to thousands of industry colleagues and their families.
NABS has chapters in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec.
HOW DOES NABS HELP?
Individuals seeking assistance have only to ask by writing or calling the
National Advertising Benevolent Society office. Friends, co-workers and family
members can also inquire about assistance on behalf of an individual in need.
Once an applicant qualifies for NABS assistance, a private and confidential
session is arranged with NABS counselling services partner – Family
Services Employee Assistance Program (FSEAP). FSEAP is a national network
of professional counsellors, located in more than 1,000 communities across
Canada. FSEAP then recommends a course of action to the NABS Allocations
Committee, consisting of senior industry executives, which acts promptly
and in complete confidence to provide the needed help. Applications and
counselling are available in English and French.
