The 2008 NABS Ad Auction runs from February 19 to April 17, 2008
HOW DOES THE AUCTION WORK?
NABS secures donations from all the major sectors of media
- Conventional and specialty television
- Radio
- Newspaper
- Magazine
- Outdoor and Out of Home
- Interactive
- Production and research
- Digital Signage
The Auction runs online from February to April. The highest bid
received on the final day is the final bid. All successful and unsuccessful
bidders will be contacted within 30 days by the NABS office. All successful
purchasers will receive a package containing information on the successful items,
terms and conditions.
BENEFITS:
The auction offers many benefits including:

All items purchased must be for new or incremental media use and cannot be substituted for existing media programs.
- Bidders can purchase inventory at a reduced rate to enhance existing media
plans
- Bidding is confidential on our secure online website and updates are in
real time
- For donors, the Auction encourages additional or new use of media by potential
new clients. Media properties get the opportunity to attract clients that
may not have used their medium before
- All proceeds stay within the advertising and media industry = direct support
for industry colleagues
HOW CAN I VIEW AND BID ON INVENTORY?
- Browse the listings by media segment or region
- Click on item for more details
- If you are interested in bidding on the item, enter your minimum bid (at
least 50% of value), your password will be requested for confirmation
- An email verifying your bid will be sent to your registered email address
within 24 hours
- If you are outbid, you will be notified by email within 24 hours, and you
may log in and update your bid accordingly
ONCE THE AUCTION IS FINISHED
If your BIDDING IS successful:
- The highest bid at 8:59 pm EST on the last day of the Auction is the final and winning
bid
- In the event that your bid is successful, the submission of a bid constitutes
a binding agreement to pay the amount stated to NABS within 30 days of the
use of the item, or 30 days after the item expires (whichever comes first)
- All Ad Auction purchases must be used by the dates given in the conditions
- Bidders may be required to submit a credit history before approval of bids
at the discretion of NABS
- All successful bidders will be notified in writing by NABS within 30 days
of the Auction closing
- Successful bidders will book the time/space directly with the donation company,
and all payments will be paid to NABS
- Successful bidders will fax the usage sheet to Jennifer Ruffo at NABS fax number: 416-962-9149 and invoice will be produced with payment due in 30 days
- All donors whose inventory has been purchased will also receive written
confirmation of the winning bidder within 30 days of the Auction closing
If your MEDIA DONATION has been purchased
- All donors whose inventory has been purchased will also receive written confirmation of the winning bidder within 30 days of the Auction closing
- Successful bidders will book the time/space directly with the donation company, and all payments will be paid to NABS
- Successful bidders will fax the usage sheet to Jennifer Ruffo at NABS fax number: 416-962-9149 and invoice will be produced with payment due in 30 days
If your BIDDING is NOT successful:
- All bidders who were not the highest – will be notified by email
within 30 days of the Auction closing
If your MEDIA DONATION has not been purchased
- All unsold media will be retained by NABS for potential sale during the remainder of
2008. Donors will be notified by NABS when a bid has been offered
